What the council's role is
Under this scheme, local councils have been given certain responsibilities, including:
- carrying out checks on sponsors and sponsors' homes
- making arrangements for payments to those arriving in UK under the scheme
- making arrangements for the 'thank you' payment to sponsors
- helping to make sure our guests settle in to life in Essex
In this section you will find more information on how we are meeting these responsibilities.
